Pietra di Loiano

Features:

Querceto, Sassomorello, Settefonti and Belpoggio are small mountain hamlets near Loiano, a village of the Apennines of Tuscany-Emilia. Four stones with an intense mineral appear and two surface-finishes: bush-hammered and glossy. The bush-hammered version, ideal for floors and exterior walls, recalls stones chiselled with a bush-hammer, a tool used by stone-cutters to roughen the surface of stone. The glossy version, especially designed for interiors, delicately reflects light without losing its natural appeal, just like stone that has been lightly polished. In both versions, the result is a floor of great impact, structured and boldly substantial.

Decoration using the coloured-salt jet technique, perfected by means of the dry application of micronised minerals, offers an outstandingly faithful pattern, a highly realistic effect recalling the appearance of fine-grain granite. Crystals of quartz, hematite and corundum give this finish brightness, surface hardness (MOHS 9) and slip-resistance (R13), and make Pietra di Loiano in its bush-hammered version particularly recommended for terraces, around swimming pools, on staircases, ramps, pavements and other outdoor areas subject to heavy traffic.
